i have an asus a8n-e nf4 mobo and an athlon 64 3000 winchester, and with the asus oc tool i can only oc to 1.9 ghz 1.8 stock... and i dont understand this, i am not good with voltages n suck so i never touched them, but could someone help me get the clock higherm also my temps are bout 36C idle

i think i'll have to know what ram you are useing; brand, speed, and timings, that will help a lot. the winchester core will do about 2.65 ghz tops if you are lucky, the venice will do about 2.85 give or take .100 mhz... but this is only with high quality memory, and a cpu from a good batch.

haha! i found out my problem was that GAY ASS amd cool n quiet, i disabled it, and oced to 2.8ghz stock cooling it runs 42C idle and it running perfectly, scoring 9100 in 3d mark 05 :O:O:O:O

good job! i have ocz pc 3200 ram as well, and an amd 64 3000 winchester, can't get it "BF2 stabile" past 2500 mhz running 280 fsb 1:1 cas 2.5,4-3-7
i got to say your oc is extreme and im on water cooling |

In some new ASUS BIOSes, you can disable to sync the fsb with the ram. That's pretty sweet,
my 3500+ is running at 4200+ speeds. ![]()
