Well, it seems like the XL edition with 16 pipelines come very close to the performance of the 7800GT. Looks like the XT Edition with 32 pipes will rip it to pieces. ![]()

UnclePappi, Why would i flame a card that cost me £360? Maybe your implying i didn't own a 7800gtx?maybe im bashing it coz im some kind of ATI fanboy? If thats the case then check here---> My EX 7800GTX 3DMK05 score! Did you notice 3DMK detected the wrong core/clock speeds of my card? This is a common bug with 05 when using a 7800GTX(check futuremarks forum if you doubt me) If i did clock the card to those published speeds i'd of also clocked my processor and memory but as you'll see they're at default. I checked with Coolbits and Rivatuner which stated my card was running default core 450mhz/memory 1.25ghz This was a run once none optimized benchmark with the soul purpose of finding out if my EX card was performing as it should. Bare in mind im running 2 gig of ram which is not recommended if aiming for a high 05 score, hence i lose out on a few hundred points. If i ran 1 gig, played with my proc multi/fsb/volts,made a few reg tweaks, and upped the 78's core/memory to the speeds 3dmk wrongly detected,i defo would of hit 9000+ points. As stated earlier 3dmk counts for nothing when your games look like crap=exactly how a 7800gtx made mine look (roll on R520) |

AnandTech's R520, RV530 and RV515 Pre-NDA.
[EDIT] X1800XT/PRO first benchmarks. Hmm not overly impressive but i'll reserve judgement until i see a few more performance figures. News on the above X1600 benchmark runs It seems the benchmark results could be flawed,ATI have confirmed they've yet to release a X1600XT for review. ATI's Chirs Hook's response to the benchmarks="Fiction, the numbers arn't even close" Think i'll wait until i see a few*legitimate*reviews. |

XT850 better than a 7800GTX?.... Gimme a fukin break!
As for those BF2 and Doom3 screenies its obvious your driver settings are not optimal. I have a x800 (AGP) and 2x 7800GTX in SLI and my image quality is way way better on the nvidia setup even in Single card mode.. Current SLI settings for BF2 are 1280x960/16xAF/16xAA with SM3.0... Need I say more? ... oh and ATI have not announced a 32 pipeline card yet as all the current 'next-gen' boards have 16 and will perform under the equivalent Nvidia product. ATI cant get the yields from fabrication just yet, so expect to pay $100-150 more for the slower ATI aswell, because they have to cover costs! Not a fanboy, but it looks like ATI have slipped up and got PWNED again by Nvidia! |

ATI R520 may have 512-Bit bus, but with 16 Pixel Shaders, it's going to loose like hell, as far as i know, all the Benchies scattered around the net of R520 are fake!

If the guy says it wasnt the real benchmarks, then it wasnt the real benchmarls, the truth is, nvidia lowers their iq just to pass in fps and not worry bout image quality, use the xg drivers from www.tweaksrus.com for the nvidia cards because the iq from those are much better.
