Lo guys,

I was just wondering about your opinion regarding those cards. I do have the 5900 xt from msi and it get the job done, but thats about it.

Spending a lot of money for a new card is not something that i wanna do. However, i can buy a geforce at a retail store for 104 euro.

It dont say what kinda card it was but it say a 128 G 6800, so i checked
http://graphics.tomshardware.com/graphic/2...0705/index.html

and i think its this one :GeForce 6800 NV40 128MB DX 9.0 SM3.0 325 700 256 bit 12

Anyone using this card? Im gonna order a whole new pc at the end of 2006 so im not gonna buy a expensive ultra of ati card for now...

im using the GeForce FX 5900 XT NV35 128MB DX 9 400 700 256 bit 8 for now....

http://www.mycom.nl/MyCom/Store/pageloader...l=io_GF6800.htm ?<< dutch link to da store

Thx for the info,

oban.

according to 3dmk05 the 6800 128mb is 3 times as fast as your current 5900xt,plus you get the added bonus of 4 extra pipelines and sm3.0,i'd say its a safe bet you'll notice a passable difference whilst gaming, especially DX9 titles since the 5900xt is a bit of a dx9 donkey.

what ya mean a dx9 donkey? not a real dx9 card?

thx [/b][/quote]
I guess he means that although the 5900 CAN Direct X 9.0 b it has not enough power to display it.
See Half Life 2 for example. DX9 is deactivated on the 5x00 series.
