I think Lord_Behemoth is refering to ATI's new AVIVO technology implemented into their upcoming products.
The timer counting down on ATI's homepage is currently 10 days 14 hours ie AVIVO will be released on 5th october. Kinda intresting since the speculation across the net indicate X1800XT release date is,you guessed it-->5th october. Guess we'll have to wait and see [Edit] Fixed dead link. |

Indeed I was hoping ppl would come here and speculate what exactly the timer is for.
I personally think it's gonna be the official release of crossfire, but just like every other gamer out there I'm hoping tis the release of the X1800/X1600.

Have you noticed beneath the timer is an equation d/t = V
After a lil digging,i found its one of the most basic physic equations known to man(new to me) Heres what i dug up, d=distance,t=time,v=velocity Although, what ATI are trying to say is..........anyones guess? Heres my thoughts on the riddle! 1:D represents the distance ATI travelled in order to get their next gen into production, 2:T represents the time consumers have been waiting(longest in ATI's history) 3:Last but not least,V represents the extreme velocity of their new highend chip/Velocity=acceleration with direction! Anyone think of a better theory(or am i being a lil too curious/cough*fanboy*cough :dennis: ) |

I decompiled the clock SWF on ATI's home page(sad i know)anyway it says"Radeon X1K Enter a World of Visual Velocity"
I've posed a screenshot at the bottom of page. Following ATI´s previous naming/numbering scheme,i believe the X1 to be read as eleven, the k as thousand. Example: Radeon series: 7000,8000,9x00,X8 (X=10 in the latin alphabet ie X800=10800) and now X1=11 in the latin alphabet ie X1800=11800. Seems a natural progression, yes? Decompiled clock SWF/ATI's home page Now all i have to do is wait for 5th october......to realise the 7800gtx pwns ATI's offering! only jk'ing,i know where my £'s going regardless of benchmarks/overdue forceware 80's. |

In other news, ASUS is going unleash the first Dual GPU card.
http://www.matbe.com/actualites/11349/l-as...ual-disponible/ Seems pretty useless to me, since there's already a thing called SLI and not to mention is gonna cost a shitload of money ($999). One would be cheaper off buying 2 7800GT's. aw well I'm sure some ppl with way to much money would buy it
