uninstall the savage drivers and turn onboard video off in the bios.
Okay, my video card is supposed to be here today. How do I go about uninstalling the "savage drives" and how do I get to my "bios" to turn off the video. Most importantly, I why am I doing this? Love to learn, thanks. echo1973 |

okay go into add/remove programs in control panel & uninstall your onboard video drivers, then right after putting your new video card in your computer as soon as u turn on comp. tap the "delete" key this will bring u into your bios , now find your onboard video and disable, your doing this cause you can't run yoyr comp. on an onboard video chip and your new video card at the same time, right? so disable that mofo and forget about it too lol....now once back in windows again install new video drivers for your new card
go to ati.com or nvidia.com whichever kind of card u gots. |

Man, I'm so screwed. I can barely read my screen. When I was installing the new drivers (off the nvidia install disk) the computer restarted and the screen was really really messed up. I went through it again, the second time the screen was black. I had to pull the video card out, tried to reinstall the original driver. That made the screen just a tiny bit better, gave the static some color. I think it's in safe mode or something? Not sure, everything in windows is much largeer than before. I tried a system restore (restored to two days ago) it didn't help at all. Is all hope lost??

So, I have my picture back. Stuck in 640x480 pixels 8bit color quality. Every time I try to change it the screen goes haywire and I have to go back and uninstall the original savage graphics drive. This morning I went to the nvidia site and downloaded the suggested drives. I tried putting the nvidia video card back in the computer, got the black screen again? No gaming yet for me =(
