I bought Halo and can't play it, I need a (minimum) 32 MB/3D T&L capable video card. I'm not up on thisstuff. I see all kinds of cards on ebay but none of'em say "T&L capable" Would someone give me a few names (exact models) of cards that will work for me? I have a Compaq Presario 5000 PC

Thanks!

all cards have T&L now. If you can afford THIS <---click there , then get it. It will run Halo on high levels,if not there is always a cheaper solution.

Sorry but your comp just doesn't cut it, forget about a new video card and save for a new set up. If you have to buy a new graphics card it'll need to be AGP X2 :Oo: as its the the max your Compaq Presario 5000 can handle, like i said save for a new comp.

Oh man, I just won the bid on a Geforce FX5500 256MB AGP 8X W/DVI out for $40. Are you saying it won't work on my PC?

My pridiction of your comp may of been wrong, i now see theres a Presario 5000 series(it helps if you can give more details on your spec)
If this is your comp--> another presario 5000 you'll be fine running a FX5500. Although Halo is a couple of year old its still quite demanding with the latest hardware, even on the above P5000 and FX5500 you'll find the game will struggle, you might get a decent frame rate by setting all ingame options to low and res@800x600.
Goodluck.

AGP 3.0 will run on earlier versions, but with less bandwidth. MIGHT and I mean MIGHT be slower. Aslong as your AGP interface has the correct power capabilities you should be fine.

Nvidia Geforce FX5500 256MB AGP 8X w/DVI OUT

The above is the card I won the bid for on ebay. Now I'm worried when I do get it in the mail if it'll mess anything up on my computer when I install it?

My computer - Presario 5000
AMD Athlon XP Processor Model 1700 (1.47GHz)
512MB SyncDRAM
80GB Hard Drive
16Max DVD-ROM Drive
16Max CD-RW Drive
Integrated Savage AGP 3D Graphics with 8MB Allocated as Video Memory

Everything should be ok, but before fitting the fx5500, uninstall the savage drivers and turn onboard video off in the bios.
