They are,the framerates are the problems

The game uses quite a lot of system memory for textures , 1GB + is better . I think you should upgarade from 512MB to 1GB . The 9700 pro is a Direct X 9 supported card but there are other factors too that count on the card performance like peak fill rates etc etc .

P.S. : IMO a 7800GTX 512 can run the game at high resolutions because of the amazing 512MB / 1.2ns GDDR3 memory .

I have a p4 2.8ghz and 1.5 go pc3200 and a 6800gt at stock speeds, and the game runs fine....all "extra" with soften smoke edges and high level of dynamic lights, shadows on... it isn't 50 or 60fps, but still i must get 25-30 or even 40 fps most part of the time...

1. best driver for Nvidia 6xxx cards is 78.01 (for performence) and for 7xxx cards 78.02 (for performence with a little better image quality)properbly you use no SLI because the new drivers fixes some probs to this.

2.if you got a slow cpu reduce shadows(better turn off) and the smooth smoke.
if you got a slow g.card reduce texture quality and AA/AF.

81.95 is the best so far for all cards.

I just remembered that there were some tweaks for COD 2 , you should try them , they are said to give some great boost in game .

done them along time ago. only gave me like... 8fps with the multigpu.

I wonder if your shitty system specs and that 512mb of ram that was adequate 3 years ago is behind it? You never know right?
