ok. so my parents computer is just really messed up lately. I'm trying to figure out the problem and I think its come down to the cpu cache. windows always crashes to the blue screen or just restarts before it finishes loading. I turned off the cpu internal and external cache and it loaded fine except that it was dreadfully slow. then I turned on internal cache and it crashed like normal. I turned that off and turned external cache on and it freezes up. I'm just wondering if you think this is a mobo problem or a cpu problem. I have an athlon xp 1800+ with a soyo K7-ADA v1.0 mobo.

I hope so. I've tried reinstalling windows a couple times but the error is cosistant even after updating the bios, resetting the mobo, and changing various settings. It's looking like the cpu or the mobo have gone bad. I was hoping replacing them would only be a last resort.
