sims 2 doesnt work need help with drivers!!!

my sims 2 game doesnt work bc it says i need the directX 9.0 drivers and ive installed i dont kno how many different drivers an nothing has worked so far please help!!!!

are you just download and installing display drivers or have you actually downloaded microsoft directx and installed it?
