Maybe you forumites can help me out. I bought 2 6600s. They both work in the wifes puter but not in mine. The problem arises when I install the drivers for it. When it reboots, it wont goto the os. Just freezes on a blue screen for a little bit and then reboots. I am all out of ideas here fellas. Help a monkey! Btw, the mobo is an asrock k8upgrade 1689

Hmm, was there a card in there before? Maybe the cmos needs clearing (by taking the mobo battery out for a few minutes). That's what I had to do when I upgraded from 9800 Pro to 6800GT on an AsusP4P800, even though it should've done it all automatically.
See what others say first, but you could try this as a last resort. (unless you've already tried it.) Good luck sorting it. ![]() |

hi m8, first of all you say a bluescreen, which could really b anything, first i would try to note down the error, then google it,an other thing that comes to mind is the psu, i pressume its large enuff?, the previous post of clearing the cmos is also another thing to do, thing also is that with bluescreens, in my experience 90% of time either a ram or driver problem, latest motherboard drivers/different nvidia drivers? did u try the ones that came with the card? if so try from nvidia.com also bios update? err, last thing i would say is that previous display adapter? did u remove all software/drivers for it! hope it helps. if all else fails try a reinstall of the os,with minimal hardware, default bios settings,edit.......... again lol.... ahh one thing that did come to mind is that does the mobo use onboard video? may have to change that in bios, primary display? well thats all i can think of m8, hope it helps.
