I really have a hard time believing that piracy is killing the PC game experience. Sure it is a problem, but for the average user, piracy is the last thing from their mind. It is the games that are doing it not piracy. Make a game someone wants to play and not some rehashed pos we have seen a thousand times before and we will buy it. And dont even get me started on the horrid proctection systems that are in place for pc games. You think console games defeat piracy? I guarantee you I could goto any torrent site and find the newest xbox/ps2 game instaniously. Piracy is not the damn problem. Remaking the same crap over and over is!

dude
get a joyteck usb adapter from play.com for £7 quid and plug your PS2 controller into your pc. It works a treat but dont load the drivers that come with it cos they mess with the rumble feature, the XP drivers are fine so just plug and play Have fun Bazmondo |

And while I'm on this tangent, I'll mention that, of course, if you want the best dance game on PC, you want StepMania, which is a highly advanced, free DDR simulator with thousands of songs available for it. Anyway, with regards to the topic, I use a converter to use Playstation controllers and dance mats (for StepMania) on PC, which I use largely for console-style games and arcade games. I like both console and PC games, but I'm largely focused on old-school games in general, Especially Pre-N64 era.

What the hell does testing have to do with piracy? lol I stand by my statement up there and believe that pc gameing will never die just because, there are some games that are much better to play on a pc. Not o mention the fact that playing local mp on a console means split screen unless you have 2 consoles, 2 tvs, and 2 games. With the pc, most games have 2 pcs so all that is needed is the game as most will let you lan with just one copy. Always a plus in my book

The biggest threat to pc gaming is called world of warcraft. Not a console or piracy but the danger comes from within, wow addicts simply don't have the time to play other games and after the release of the addon pc gaming will loose a lot more potential customers.
If there ever comes something like world of oblivion, then I won't even bother upgrading my pc anymore since that day will be marked as pcgaming doomsday :dennis: (I'm not really serious about that, but there's a point in there somewhere)

That could be the pcs saving grace as well. What if Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Ultima, Sam and Max, and hundred other games that people love suddenly had a wow for their world that was exclusively on the pc?? It would be hard to tear yourself away from the pc to goto a console.

1) it's a game that the developers spent a HUGE amount of money time and effort in creating (thus creating an addictive environment) 2) it's a game that piracy has little effect on because there are monthly fees. There is no question that PC gaming will survive because of MMPOG games and niche titles like RTS and "casual" games. I guess if you like those genres then by all means the PC will be doing well but some of us can see the writing on the wall that PC gaming as you know it has already started it's decline. The next 5 years for PC gamers are NOT going to be gentle, expect your favorite developers to push PC games to the very back of their "must release on" list.

I think the PC will always take the lead...it is customizable. + you don't need a 5000 $ sony full HD TV screen, just get a 17" widescreen from apple.
It is always good to play the console with friends or just to remember the good times...but the pad is shitty.
