Zalman is considerd by most as the best. Read some reviews and make up your own mind about it, I atleast recommend it as I have one.

Installing a fan shouldn't be a problem if you have the patience to read a manual for a few moments and then install as described. Watercooling is just as simple, just more expensive and electricityconsuming.

Well there's a lot more you can screw up with watercooling, so I wouldn't say it's as easy, but indeed very nice when it's running properly. What you could do along with getting a proper cooler is to tuck away that cable mess you have. See if you can get some behind the cd/dvd writer etc. You need airflow and you're not getting much.

This one. Watercooling can a bit difficult to install, this airflow fan should be easy enough tough.

Interman sure has a point with your wires. Either place them behind your dvd drive or tie them together with some wire.

Furthermore you should perhaps be looking at the option of some passive hd cooling and silencing. Here's a link!!!

Good luck

Thanks for the help mates, and keep up the great work!

last thing - what about motherboard compatibility, can it be a problem?

For CPU Compatibility, i know i have a Intel P4, but how do i find out if it is a Willamette, Northwood or Prescott - like it says on the table of the zalman site. Does it even have to be made by these manufacturers?

Is there a simple way of finding out what model my mobo is? Sorry about this.
