alright i have the shittiest game system on the planet--------------- The Nintendo Gamecube-------- and im tired of it. im trying to decide on what my next system is gonna be. im stuck between xbox 360 and the new PS3. any input?

Well, the best argument for the 360 would be that it's already out and has a few cool games (not nearly enough btw). On the other hand, the line up for ps3 is just awesome , just look at this link.

I personnaly expect more of the ps3 and it has free onlinegaming. I refuse to pay additional money to play online so that's the dealbreaker for me, I am sure alot of 360 fanboys wiil now post to disagree with me.

Btw, the specs of the ps3 are way much higher.

Well Xbox360 is out of stock right now. PS3 might cost more but it will come with a 60 gig hd, blu-ray, pretty nice graphics just as xbox 360, free online play, downloadable content and games, pretty good games that Playstation is known for. Your choice, just looke over what each has to offer.

well one of the pluses of the 360 is halo 2 and that would be the main reason i would get it.

I would wait till after E3 has passed to see what PS3 has to offer. It's gonna be pretty tight between 360 and PS3 this round. I think 360's done a much better job of securing developers than with XBox1 as well, but PS3 will have more Japanese support. So watch out for the games in May, then pick whichever one you like the sound of.

Things to remember:

-Blu-ray may not be the format of the future. There's always the cheaper HD-DVDs which more film studios are starting to like. Sony will be pushing its new format as pointlessly as it did its UMDs on PSP.
-PS3 Online/HUB/Wa! may be free but will it be any good?
-PS3 might retail for over $600!

-360 might end up just being an expensive machine to play Gears of War and Halo on, with all other games appearing on PC.
-The range of games on 360 atm is pretty much just arcade shooters, racers and fighting, which is ok if that's all you're looking for!
-Halo 2 was meh..

In my books the only sure winner is the Revolution. :P I miss not having a cube, I really wanted to play Killer 7 and Ikaruga!

have to say after checking into all the news hype and pre-release reviews I can't wait to get my hands on the revo! Plus they already have a good line of devlopers signed on to make games for the system so the selection should be decent right out of the gate. Plus it is backward compatable w/ the gamecube games. and the biggest plus i can think of for it (other than that kick ass controller) is the fact that your going to be able to download nes, snes, n64, genisis, and turbografix 16 games for it!

the revolution looks alright its just i dont like the controller. im leaning more toward the ps3. dose any one know when or if halo 2 is coming out for pc?

Dont be so quick to dismiss the Revo. That controller will bring a new kinda interaction. Just think of it, actual sword fighting and golf! Tons on possibilities. As for the PS3 who knows when the hell that thing is coming out and the price will probably be outrageous

Halo 2 for PC is looking like end of 2006/2007 atm. What sucks is that it'll be exclusive to Windows Vista, so you'll need to upgrade to Vista to play it on PC - presumably cos it'll use some DX10 features. (Which may mean a new gfx card as well!) If Vista comes this year, they might even try and time it with the release of PS3 and maybe Halo 3 while they're at it! :P

PS3 is on for a November 2006 'worldwide' launch atm, but I doubt they'll have much more luck than 360 did with its worldwide launch. I'm expecting plenty of delays, unless you pre-order as soon as possible. We'll probably know for sure after E3 in May.

E3 should bring a new surprise for the Revo as well, since there's still one 'revolutionary' feature still left to unveil apparently. A VR headset would be awesome!

Oh and check Revs first few screens out! They're from a launch title called Red Steel made by Ubisoft Paris. Someone scanned in Game Informer's exclusive scoop so they probably won't be there for long!

ya i think im just gonna settle with the ps 3
