Yeah that combination will work fine, but i'd really reccommend a x1800gto. Its a bit extra but worth it. I'm thinking of getting one myself when I upgrade

is this memory compatible with the mobo listed above? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820146545
also.. now im looking for an AMD processor.. whats a decent one? right now im running a regular 2.4ghz intel.. so i want something.. better? i dont know.. i see all these amd processors on newegg, and its like... 2.0ghz, but it costs like... twice as much as an intel processor that might be like... 2.4ghz.. whats up with that?

Go for 2 sticks of 512mb RAM so you can run the RAM in dual channel, or two sticks of 1gb. This enables you two run the RAM in dual channel mode.
If you're going with AMD, I'd recommend that you get their new socket motherboard AM2, that requires DDR2 memory ( which is quite affordable). I'd recommend a Dual Core CPU, such as the X2 4400+ .

O_O holy crap thats expensive... yeah i know.. you get what you pay for... but jesus o_O;; im not going to lie.. to buy that, i would need like.. 3 paychecks from my old job.. (JUST FOR THAT PART)
is there maybe.. something a little more affordable that gives similar results? does that mobo i gave have an Intel compatible version? if so.. what intel processor would give similar results?
