Hi, I Am Having Problems With My Computer And I Dont Really Know Whats Going On. K Well A Week Ago My Computer Screwed Up And My Montor Wouldnt Show Anything, It Was Completely Black. And I Had Just Got The Video Card Replaced So I Was Sure That Wasnt The Problem so For Whatever Reason I Tried Taking Out A Stick Of RAM, And Then It Worked... So I Tried The Other Stick By Itself And It Also Worked. So I Tried Both Again, And Still A Black Screen. Then I Tried The Last 2 memory slots (previously i was using the first one with the 1 stick config) and now the system runs with the ram running single channel in the last 2 memory slots, but it crashes often and runs slow. Im Getting A Blue Screen When It Crashes, and A memory dump takes place. If Anyone Knows Whats Going On Id Appreciate The Help. Also Its Most Likely Not The Motherboard Because Ive Tried 2 Different Ones (Asus A8N-E And Asus A8N SLI Premium) and both do the same thing, Although the A8N-E will boot and run fine untill you try to open a program that starts to stress the system slightly. And With The A8N Premium It Usually Wont Even Start Windows And Its Already Crashed, Or If It Does Get Windows Booted, It Crashes In A Matter Of Seconds. :S

I must be a memory problem or motherboard fault. What brand of RAM is it? Are they both the same brand of RAM? Its possible that it is not compatible with ASUS motherbords.

Also, when your monitor wouldn't show anything, did you hear any beeps? If so, the amount of beeps indicates what is wrong with your PC.

I'd advise you to run memtest, it'll hopefully find out if your RAM is at fault. You can put this on a floppy disk and boot it when you turn your PC on.

One more thing, can you list your PC specs? What PSU do you have as well? Its possible that it is not sufficient enough to run your new graphics card, but there's no telling without your specs.

well the RAM is OCZ and its a pair 2x512mb plat edition rev 2 (2-2-2-5) and it worked before this just happened out of nowhere. and there were no beeps. i ran memtest for 13 hours and nothing came up. i just tried changing psu didnt help either i have a 550w antec pure power. and i tried a 650 enermax and still the same problem. also the graphics card isnt really new ive had it for a while, but it died so i got another one, so it isnt the psu.
specs - amd 3000 winnie
2x512 sticks ocz
asus a8n-e, premium wont boot at all
seagate sata 80gb
msi nx 7800 gtx

This is funny because my computer just started doing the same thing recently, i have a newly built pc thats a Asus A8N-E motherboard withe OCZ
plat edition but at 2x 1gig with a 7900gt oc, my computer has a hard time starting sometimes i get half the boot page on start up and other times nothing sometimes the beep but still no screen. So i did what you did awhile back with just using a stick of ram and it would start up fine, but then the problems starting popping up again. So i put in the other stick and get about a 30% failure rate for startup but the worst problem
would be my computer crashing (well not quite crashing more like freezing.. so i have to restart) playing games such as Oblivion and what not,
but it also freezes just having nothing running just the desktop, its sooooo anonnying and my computer is brand new and i have no friends with right equipment to enterchange parts. If you get anywhere PLEASE post back ill be watching this thread, thanks

Both of you have a look on THIS. There seems to be a few people with similar problems.

Do you have another graphics card? BIOS update? Cables all connected correctly? Memory timings correct in BIOS?
