Unfortunately I doubt that's capable of running BF2 on all LOW (BF2 is not a recent game, it came out last summer =/)

Well, your videocard as mentioned before is a huge bottleneck. Try to get a midrange card and you should be able to atleast run most games at medium settings or even higher.
Try trading in your 1024 mb memory for two 512 so you can get dualchannel advantage.
Furthermore get an seperate soundcard, onboard soundcards simply take away too much system resources killing your framerates. A basic card should do the trick.

That CPU is getting old too. I dont know about the motherboard but I have a feeling intel-based mobos are limited in features etc. Also, that GFX card is worthless. You wanna work faster in a game called Microsoft Office(Word)? Go for it. You want games? Get a better one.
Too small budget and your comp is already old when you buy it. Too old.
If it's built-in, it's crap.

well, I always used Intel boards back then, not because they are uber fast or anything, they are far from it, but they were the most stable ones. I'm not into benchmarks and such but stability. lately i saw that Intel boards didn't make the cut anymore so I guess my next will be a ASUS or if I go for AMD then LanParty.
Most people seems to have a limit when it comes to PC and that's the budget. I never spare any cost when it came to it...only lately it seems that there are hardly any games worth building a top end machin.

Christmas gifts i say.
This is my new computer:
Asus AN8, w/ onboard lan/audio
AMD athlon 64 3500+ (havnt got around to OCing)
1.5gb of fairly cheap ram
Sapphire X800gto2 unlocked to x850xt (need better cooler before OC)
60gb HD, 140gb HD no not raid, im sill running IDE.
umm misc dvd burner, and cd burner.
Im able to run fear on mostly high settings, prey demo on high, HL2 maxed out. Most of the stuff I got for christmas/graduation/birthday gifts. Thats the way for poor college student to afford a decent computer. I think I only bought the ram in 2 stages (first 2x256, then added 2x512), OH and the 140gb HD on sale for $40 on black friday.
Overall probably costs $650 area. Then theres my special extras like my logitech mx500 i couldnt live without and my logitech z-5500 that makes my neighborhood shake. Add $300 for both, then $200-$300 for a monitor. Total $1200.
Not the best system in the world but it works for me.
