well the amd/ati thingy had been "on the books" for a while...

as to the intel and nvidia, i think they announced (or announcing)
a partnership to attempt to rival this...

but a takeover outright, was shot down because of the 'differences'
in the companies.... not forgeting they just expanded into macs etc...

just as long as they don't only produce all-on-board pcs, but if ati
is making the imbedded v/c?? well time will tell.

i just realize that i bought a matrox card back then because it was a non noname card and made for graphic (2D)...so i gotta find somethin else

They say these things all the time, but I really doubt that the takeover will make ATI/AMD products much cheaper. I suppose from economies of scale in production and distribution.

well i got a 1 meg wir-teck(tech?) card sitting around here somewhere

the only drawback is you need a full length case,
you know with the supports on the other side of the case....

it may even be *shock*... PCI! (if i can be bothered i will post a pic)

well i cant see too much happenening too quickly, shock the market etc.

but it wouldn't be too unforsee-able that they bring out there own standards,
something to rival pci-e, maybe, something involving the cpu?
like cpu+gpu in 1 chip? who knows...

This has a good effect on the industry immediately. Loads of cheap motherboards and AMD processors!

In the longterms it means AMD and ATI can develop highly integrated CPU/VPU on one die processors on to really small low power notebooks and other small computer devices, which is an excellent idea IMHO!

ATI will always have the Radeon name aswell, its too big to rename! :thumbup:
