Dang and i'm still happy with my 9600 xt ati card and my 2400+ amd athlon xp that can run HL2 Lost coast with full HDR on high texture and high model, oh man i love it

i agree. luckily i'm mostly into racing games so i can still get away with my 9700 Pro & 2600+. it's unlocked so i can bump it up to a 3200+ with ease but i hardly ever even need to.

i HAD been planning to go nvidia & amd on the next upgrade but i think i'll wait to see how things shake out. in the long run i could see amd losing the gamers to intel though...
