I picked up that card that Gazz Quoted, the 7600GT. Runs very nice. had oblivion set up decent enough and it played great. But lets face it that game punishes machines.

Well I just want to ask one question, how the hell is ddr2 going to be on a ddr400 mobo? You might want to change that, get a x1800gto, unlock to 16pipes and oc it to x1800xt speeds and there ya go, but make sure you get the HIS version.

Cool tip about the x1800gto since it is very cheap, but what is the HIS version, and is the unlocking easy? would i need better cooling for it?
and is the Sapphire Version good for it?
I found out that the x1800gto is better than the 7600GT in some points, if i would mod it to x1800xt that would mean a very big speed increase!

the His cards have the most rate in unlocking the pipelines, if you get the ice3 version of the HIS then you got yourself better than an aftermarket cooler there.

Is the above an option?

Cos I would go for those components as a compromise of value/performance and you always need a soundcard for those few extra FPS and extra% fidelity. I might even stretch the budget for a creative xi-fi xtreme music.
