Hey,

I am in the market for buying a new Video card. I am lost though on which type of card I should get Nvidea or Radeon. I currently have been looking at the Radeon x1800 and its looks like a decent card for $200. I am also looking for a new monitor for about $200. So if you have any suggestions or comments on which monitor I should get or which video card is the best for about $150 - $200.

Thanks in Advance .

Yes. For $200USD I'd definately go with the Radeon x1800xt:
I'd reccommend the either two of the Sapphire cards in this LINK. The only difference between them is that one comes in a retail box, and the other doesn't (OEM).

For a monitor, I'd strongly reccommend THIS one. I have one and I have to say its brilliant value for money. 700:1 contrast ratio, widescreen resolution, and 5ms refresh rate! Perfect for gaming.

That's my 2 cents anywhoo :P
Good luck.

nice searching 64, but how in the world is it possible that a 1800XT can be from 200 to 509 dollars? know the difference between these priceranges? Okay, different manufacturers, but does that actually mean price increases of 300 dollars?

odd.

Maybe HDTV and 256 mb makes the difference in those cards

I suggest the X700 PRO 256MB DDR3 video card, it's tight....real tight, for the price u can't go wrong. I trust bought one, trust me it handles any new game you throw at it, even with all settings on high, for eg: BF2 all settings on high noAA @ 1024res. runs like melted butter, CALL OF JUAREZ all settings high, runs very nice...no SM 3.0 thats the only problem, but who cares, we all gotta upgrade soon anyways, when direct X 10 arrives. ;)
-X700 pro $139 canadian @ futureshop.
