I must recommend the BFG 7800 GSOC videocard. It is an AGP version of a normal 7800, so it is not quite as fast as PCI-e brethren, but it is still a superb step up from my 6600. On average my performance has improved by %75; some applications more than that, which is in line with what I was expecting. Painless install too.
It is about the same price as a PCI-e version, though as it was pertinent to me I did *not* have to change a motherboard, cpu, and case to add it. A nice solution for those of us not yet ready to go into massive debt on essentially a new system. This would be my last AGP upgrade however. Should be fine for Direct X 9.x Crysis and the like. |

But i would recommend to save those 300 bucks going towards a agp 7800 and put them into a good soket 939 or AM2 or Conroe system with PCi-e upgradability.

If its still AGP i think the rest of your pc will be the hog for playing games, if you get the chance, upgrade the rest! ;)
