System fried new budget sys comming

ok on a budget of 240usd or less this is what i put together after my old rig got wiped out in an electrical storm. And yes before you ask i had it on a surge supressor!

754 cheap ass ecs mobo
amd simpron 64 3000+
512 mb ddr 400 mushkin
500w hipro power supply
gigabyte radeon x1300 pcie


old fried sys
cheap ass pc chips soc. a mobo
amd athalon xp 2400+
512 mb ddr 266 rosewill
300w antec power supply
wintec fx 5200

Yeah thats ok modock, you should be able to play most games at medium @ 1024x768 quite happily.

Thanks to the fact that my vision is somewhere in the neighborhood of 20 over 220 1024x768 is the highest res i will use on a 17in monitor. So that works just fine for me

well you know you should really bring your computer
inside when it starts to rain, yet alone thunder :P

don't think that helps, but food for thought...

trust me if my budget was not limited to 240usd or less my sys would have been better but tis a lot better than my old rig so i'm happy!
