saw this at newegg and had to show everyone.

too bad i don't have 300usd to waste!
the damn thing runs linux and you can get various apps to offload network based work from your cpu to the npu on the card!
you gotta love that.
also i'm guessing that someone out there is going to make some pretty cool masking progs to run on this too.

Wow that's a lot of money for a NIC, but it seems to work really well.

Nice, although I have a 40mbit connection right now (stresstest, normally have a 8mbit line), this looks really interesting.

As a cheap alternative to those who would like some more speed in their network... Get rid of your "wireless"connection, not only do they suck up a lot of energy, cost way too much money too purchase and make an additional securityrisk in your system (no, having an encoded wireless signal as security doesn't make up for it, not having the leak at all is your best prevention).

Besides that every extra wireless receiver/sender and all those things create an extra few ms's of delay regardless of idiots saying that wirelss is faster. If you happen to have your modem downstairs and the signal is delayed by 2 concrete walls like I have here then your delay and overall quality is even worse, just stick some wires trough the heatpipeholes every house has and enjoy a faster and more stable network

Yeah I saw this a few months ago. Seems even more redundant than the PhysX card at the moment. Pretty much a total waste of money, so its understandable why GM wants one :P
I would hardly consider it a waste of money. Personally I have a lot I could use it for. I have to connect to a 2TB Network Storage Device, an Alienware system running off my PC as a media centre in the lounge, an XBox360 in the master bedroom and not to mention the vast array of online titles I use...

... oh and for the record I don't own an Ageia, because that really is a waste of money. (Currently!)

its not so much about speading up your internet connection as it is about offloading from your cpu.
which would help out your overall system speed.
plus i just love the imbedded linux on the card that you can get apps for.

Think of the options, adding in a usb hdd, for extra storage on a gbit network without connecting cables!
