I thought I had heard they'd be around $1200. About $200-$100 more than the current price on the Core 2 Duo X6800.
Oh and just say quad core, Quadro makes me think of nvidia's workstation card ![]() |

I'm more surprised by the shipping costs! $60 for a processor?! Damn, are they 15Kg now?
BTW, look at the benchmarks done by Valve on their quad enable source engines! http://www.tgdaily.com/2006/11/02/quad_cor...stem/page2.html

Interesting tgf, but you do have to wonder what, or more precisely, how many fine-threaded routines are there that need to distributed to 4 seperate cores?
Scene Rendering, AI, Physics and....? Now its more than likely that Physics will be handled on a GPU or Dedicated addon board, so thats hardly going to eat an entire 3GHz core up... maybe Valve are saying this so Intel send them a few token quadcore workstations as a 'thankyou!'.. if you know what I mean! |
