maybe your video card is to fast for your monitor refresh rate. is your monitor a 8mm or a 24mm. maybe your monitor cant keep up . i got a lcd screen and it worked fine untill i was in heavy action fast paced games. and i would see blurry choppyness gave me a headache so i went back to crt monitor. and the lcd screen i had was a 8mm. i thought that would be good enough but it wasnt for me.

Hey All,

Well ive just received my 19" widescreen lcd tft. Fantastic. Hooked her up via dvi cable to my xfx 6600gt, loaded the driver updated the card drivers but its freezing my system when i play games! Grrrrr. PLaying War Rock when theres **** is hitting the fan it freezes and wont even load C.O.H before it freezes! Have uninstalled and reinstalled all drivers, tried everything, still get freezes! Could it be that my card now needs more power with a lcd tft and i need a better PSU? I have a FSP Blue Storm 450W . Theres no connector on the card which is a shame.

Would love some feedback on this.

Thanks

Does this happen in just War Rock, or all games you play? What driver did you update? Was it monitor drivers or nVidia drivers? Monitors should be plug and play, meaning no drivers are necessary. If you updated the nVidia drivers, did you uninstall the old ones first? If not, this could be the reason why War Rock is crashing. I would advise uninstalling your graphics drivers and then using DriverCleaner to make sure the drivers are deleted completely.

I'm pretty sure graphics cards use the same amount of power regardless of the type of monitor. A 450watt should be more than enough for your Geforce 6600gt. However, playing at higher resolutions makes it work harder, as more pixels are on the screen etc. Its possible that your card is overheating. I'd also check your graphics card's temperature (look in the nVidia settings).

First off, congrats on your new monitor

First thing that comes to mind with me is reinstalling your drivers again too, only this time I'd like you too use
this program. It dletes all files that aren't standrad removed by the Nvidia uninstaller itself. Let me know if it works, there are numerous things that could cause your problems so I'm just taking my first guess here,. don't give up if it doesn't work.

Also download the trialversion of this program to delete any errors in your registry, defrag your harddrive and more. It never hurts and might just fix the problem.

Your psu is powerfull enough

Edit: seems mr. Numberman beat me too it
