what has really attracted me in the apple products, is that it is very easy to dual boot , i will install a native copy of windows xp, and i'll be able to run my mac as a native pc with no performance issue. So i'll be able to continue making LAN parties with my good friends, without having to worry about what programs are compatible or not.
Plus, it is only 1" thick when closed. I need maximum portability as i need to do all my coding exercises for the college (java coding..not very interesting) So the 15.4" model fits perfectly with my attents. (i hope it is english to say that...:bucky!: )
i also want to play a lot of music and record some. With garageband it's really easy to make up some cool stuff. (i'll definately ask Santa for a couple of logitech Z-2300 speakers...)
;)
your specs are very cool LoneStrider!! Geforce 7600 go in 512Mo....that is awesome!!
I have been impressed by the raw performances of the core2duo T7600...better than an AMD FX-62! that is just amazing.
I'm afraid the pics for the instalation of windows will come later, cuz i don't have enough money to buy one...
Well it's 23h00 here in france and i'm getting tired, i've had a long and intense day of mathematics and english!! So, see ya tomorow everybody, and have a nice day/afternoon/evening/night ! ciao ciao

Well it's got a ATI mobility X1600 256Mo ; Apple says that the autonomy is now of 5 hours, a big gain due to the merom processor.
The base price for the specs i chose is 2,609 € but, my father's work allow me to get a 10% immediate rebate, so i paid (actually it's my 18 yrs old birthday present) 2.347 €
I get it on tomorow morning, and as there are train strikes, i won't go at the uni, so i'll have the full day to test it and enjoy it!!

Hey everybody!! i'm writing to you with my macbook pro!!! and mmmh...i must say it is very very fast...everything i launch is imediately displayed and even with ten applications running, switching between the windows is imediate and using them is very very fast!!
The installation:
i received it at 15h30 in the afternoon, well packed. I was trembeling of impatienceand i opened it...The cold aluminium was intact, i got the mac out of the box, opened the screen and started..
The batery was full (95%) and the mac started quick.
the configuration of mac OSX was perfectly intuitive and fast, i was very impressed
Connected to internet 6 min after booting for first time via my livebox in wifi. I'm currently sitting on my sofa.
I used my ipod as a exterior storage and carried all my photos and movies, music etc...in approx 15 minutes. (very very effective with fire wire 400)
Configurating mac os X is a child's play. It is extremely intuitive and simple, quick, beautiful...
I tried the built-in iSight camera and it is smooth, quick, and with a fairly god resolution!
all the programs run smooth...this computer is a dream!!
Still need to download boot camp and a copy of windows, but for the moment this computer has overpassed my attents...
I'll post some screens later!!
See you all around!!
