You'll luv yourself for doing it in
6 months. It won't be long before all games and apps are coded for
multiple cores.

Yeah right that's what they said about 64-bit gaming ;p , my 3600Mhz C2D is enough for now. [/b][/quote]
Hmmm ok, so the CM iRT, LP: Extreme Condition, STALKER, Supreme Commander and Company of Heroes don't count?

NO , because they don't have 64-bit executables, just the fact that you can run the 32bit game on 64bit O/S doesn't count my friend ;]
Oh i'm sorry ;] you have 1 or 2 games, 1 is Shadow Ops:Red Mercury, and the other is FarCry ;]

Well I was talking about your reference to games that utilise multiple cores. Sorry!
64-bit games are quite rare, but because the home user market is saturated with 32-bit Windows Operating Systems, why would any developer bother wastiing valuable resources?
UT2K4 and Farcry are the only games I own that have decent 64-bit versions available. That Red Planet game stinks, so I have never played it.

Nerdfight!!
I have to agree C2D is more than enough right now... But for some of us nothing will ever be enough only the latest and baddest hardware will suffice! Besides the only app in my system that doesn't support multiple cores yet is winrar! :P and thats my lazy asses fault for not dl the latest version.
32/64 bit, I don't care as long as it looks swell and plays well ;)

that's another reason why a dev would waste money on optimising the game code and optimising it to multi cores ;] , the situation on the market is rather simple, there are more single core pc's out there than multi cored. Fact that one developer like Valve states that multi core is the way it's a good sign , but they also know that 80% of Steam users have average pc's like 512-1024mb of ram , single core , and GF4MX to Radeon9600 ;] , Just check their Statistics gathered from the Steam network.
Nuff said 64-bit gaming was a failure , multi core right now is too mature to tell clearly how will it be its future. There aren't that many games that use dual cores not to say anything about quad core.
P.S. stop the multiple quotes ;] it's rude for some ppl , and hard to read.

Well Cooler Master sent me a new Power Supply to review :-)
1250 watts of Over-Blown Goodness.
Here's a picture of it installed. I've also added a couple Maxtor 250GB
sata drives in a Raid0 array for a new Data Drive. And I've swapped out
the std. CM Stacker fans with some super quiet Nexus fans.
Here are my present Spec's:
Core2Xtreme QX6700
EVGA 680i SLI Deluxe A1
Corsair PC2 8500 2x1GB
(2) XFX 8800 GTX
Cooler Master Real Power Pro 1250w - Power Supply
(2) Western Digital sata 80GB @ Raid0 - Primary Drive
(2) Maxtor sata 250GB @ Raid0 - Data Drive
NEC 16x DVD Burner
Samsung 16x DVD/ROM
NEC FDD
Cooler Master Stacker 810 - case
Cooler Master GeminII w/ (2)- Silverstone FM121 (120mm) fans - Heat Sink
Windows Vista 32-bit Home Premium
Here's my last 3DMark06 run

Nice PSU slay! I can't believe anyone would actually need that kind of power, even with SLI 8800s. I mean you must have to have 3x optical drives, 4x HDD, Fans Galore, 2x 8800GTX Ultra, Xi-Fi Platinum, Fridge Freezer, Microwave, etc, etc...
Unfortunately my PC goes in a box this weekend and wont be coming out for a couple of weeks whilst I move house!
