Cool, though I assume you've got a good reason to build in that 1000+ watt psu. I mean, nice energy bill Nice performance, though.
BTW, I wonder what the increase of the score would be in 3DMark06 on Win XP (and Seven).

A 1000 watt power supply doesn't use any more power than a smaller sized unit. It has the potential or ability to generate a 1000 watts, but it is only producing enough to meet the demands of the system. If my system needs 850 watts then the 1000 watt power supply generates 850 watts, not 1000.

Think of it like this. Your house is connected to the power lines and they have 1000's upon 1000's watts of power. But your house only takes what it needs. Now they upgrade the Power Plant and it has the ability to produce twice as much power as it did before. Your house still only takes what it needs.

I'll be running 3DMark06 later, I'll keep you updated

Edit: 3DMark06 in WinXP 64 - 25018 - ORB - Compare

3DMark06 - Windows7 64 - 24871 - ORB - Compare

lol you don't have to tell me that. My actual reasoning was: Slay's not a guy putting in a 1000w psu if 500w or so is enough (unless it's a leftover and you don't want to buy a new one). So I concluded it is a quite power hungry pc.

BTW, interesting to see how small the performance difference between XP and Seven is so small.

I got my computer from HP when they first got the core 2 quad 2.4 ghz about 2 years ago. I spent about 1800$ and today it's still working and no problem what so ever beside software issue. It's probably worth 300$. If when HP gets their i7 I might consider getting it.
