Well after my Phase-Change Super-Pi runs I needed a new mobo, after blowing out the voltage regulator circuit. So I went to the Egg and picked up this EVGA Classified 760.

My True Copper just barely fits, it's just barely touching the Northbridge Heatsink.

I bought the OCZ PC3 16000 DDR3 2000 a few months ago but I never took any pictures.

Everythings put back together and here's my new wire management.

And here we have my Black Beauties.

Nice build Slay. Just built a new one too, not quite up to those standards, but I am very, very impressed with the Noctua. i7 920 (D0) running at 4GHz and under 100% load I am getting 46 degress celcius reported on Speedfan (24 degrees idle). Considering the room ambient is 28 degrees and its sat next to a 4870X2 with stock cooler (idle 61 degress c!, so NASTY!) I dont consider it bad at all.

Need to tidy some cables and get a better cooler for the GPU before I will be happy though.

I don't know whether it will fit on a HD4870X2 (it is not on the list), but the Scythe Musashi is a pretty decent cooler. I use it on my HD4850, with the fan speed of both fans on roughly 30-40%, and get an idle temp of at maximum 40C. At load the temps are about 55C. But I have chosen for silence, so I am not using the full cooling capabilities of the cooler.

Note: for that cooler, I recommend it strongly to use some thermal adhesive tape to stick the memory heatsinks with (their glue is not sticky enough) and the thermal grease they ship with the cooler does not look that well (hence my use of OCZ Freeze Extreme).

This is what I'll recommend for a gpu cooler. I'm using the GTX 280 version and it totally rocks

Here's a few pic's of the Arctic Cooling Accelero GTX 280. I didn't use the backplate they supplied, I used these instead Chilled PC UK - Watercooling made easy, The UKs Largest Selection of Watercooling.

I suddenly realise that a special cooler like Slaymate pointed to is needed because of the two gpu's the 4870X2 is having. Please forgive me my dumbness.

I was already looking at that when I put together the order for the new components, but I had some real concerns as some people have reported issues keeping temps down on the voltage regulators. but it looks like those very pretty heatsinks will do the job nicely on the RAM. VRs are on the front of the card right?

I will order them when I get paid, as I have to keep the missus happy as I have spent £1500 on this upgrade already!

Thanks for the help guys.

Yes, the voltage regulator circuitry is on the front side of the card. Or at least it is on the GTX 280. My VR circuitry is running cooler with the Accelero according to gpu-z.
