ballistix crucial 512mb 184-pin dimm 64x64 ddr pc4000

dell

Intel Pentium 4 550 (3.2GHz) Processor
2gb Dual-Channel DDR2 SDRAM (533MHz) (4 DIMM slots)
Nvidia 7800GTX 256MB DDR3

not sure which mobo it is mind

the ram works ok on my msi kt400 mobo.

no the ddr 4000 is ddr1 and your system is running ddr2 big difference.

^^ Yeah you need DDR2 RAM. If I'm understanding you correctly you already have 2gb of PC5300 though so why do you need more?

They're right - what you need to look for is specifically 240-pin DDR2 RAM - an example is: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList....%20(PC2%204200)
