Hi!

i encountered a problem with Gohst recon Advanced Wf and Black and white 2! the screen turns grey but i can hear the games working
on loking closer it came up that it is a problem with direct3d 9
when i run DxDiag it say that everything is fine but when testing direct3d wit DxDiag it showst that only the direct3d 9 test fails

i dont think its a prob with anything else than Quad CPU but im not sure

my drivers are all latest available, also all software is up to date

My Hardware:
CPU:intel Core 2 extreme QX6700
MB: Asus p5b deluxe
GPU: Asus NGF8800GTX
OS: winXP Media centre edition
using directx 9c

if someone knows how to get rid of it plz let me know

Is it possible that it is a problem with the PhysX drivers

I don't think it's got anything to do with your cpu if it's a DX problem.
I would supect your video 1st. Try a couple older drivers. Next I would
suspect it having something to do with the media center os. I would
attempt to to a system restore to an earlier date or try a system repair.

Why would you need PhysX drivers unless you had one of those PhysX cards?

I ask myself the same question but, some games like GRAW and Silverfall require the PhysX drivers even if you dont have the card. Earlier version of the driver were horrid!

Hi!

i dont suspect my video because GRAW was a bundle with the cardbut of course you never know for sure
Yes GRAW needs physx even if you have no card but my version is also the latest

i will try some older drivers for my GPU but i have to say that the driver it was sold with also had the same problem

and both games GRAW and B&W2 need DX9c so this is also unlikley to be the problem i think

maybe its the media centre but i have to try this as well!

if anything else comes in your mind let me know!

And you have the latest bios in your motherboard right? I my self had some serious issues with my Asus striker until the latest bios.. So I would start from there.
And newest asus motherboards have option on by default to overclock supported GPU’s. try going to your bios and see if you have that option and then try turning it off.

I have about the same specs as you so I decided to install BF2142 and GRAW and test run them... NO problems at all other than overwhelmed boredom!
