Yeah I'm gonna upgrade my X1800XT at the end of the year probably. I'm just waiting for some actual DX10 games to come out, there doesn't seem any point in upgrading yet for me.

Crysis and Brothers in arms seem to be the killer DX10 titles for this year. Next year should get even better with quake wars. let's just hope some brilliant mind at MS decides to please their customers that paid a small fortune for XP which is still buggy and slow to date and release DX10 for it so we won't have to upgrade to uber bugfest Vista.

Funny you said that, Gazz. Look at what The Inquirer has said today. Bear in mind that The Inquirer is hardly the most credulous news channel.

Microsoft is gonna push Vista. I doubt if you'll get much for XP.
While I don't agree with the principal of it. XP has reached it's
limit and I can see that Vista is the future. While there maybe
a temp fix for XP and DX10 it will only be minimal. Better hardware
is going to be required and XP just has to many limitations.
Vista is coming and if your PC Gamer you'll be switching, like it
or not.

I don't think Vista is worth shyt! It is being said that it only has a 2 year lifespan. I think I can wait that out myself.

As for the cards, The one Snowman was originally looking at has 256 bit memory. Is it really worth worrying over the 8600 with only 128 bit memory?

Interesting, the funniest thing about this all is that it would potentially run under Linux. Linux is currently running on my PS3 and the thought of having ubuntu on my PS3 running DX10 is just funny as hell. When all this turns out to be true at least.
