I currently have a BFG tech 7300GT and needless to say it won't play very many new games at high res.
Here is what I am looking for... 1. Has to be nVidia 2. Something no more than $200 3. Either new or used (If you have something for sale PM me) 4. PCIe I know very little about GPU's or OCing them, so I want something that will be able to support 1680x1050 gaming at high framerates. I was looking at this one - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814143070 but you guys might know something better to go with. Keep in mind DX10 is not something I really care about. I just want to be able to play all my games with all the bells and whistles turned on, and still have some awesome framerates. Any help greatly appreciated!

I'd recommend the Geforce 8600GTS. I know you said you don't care about DX10, but its still a good card. See, here's some benchmarks.

I'd go for the same. Keep in mind that the Nvidia drivers can be unstable in Vista though.

Thanks for the recommendation guys. What brand do you guys go for? I have owned 3 BFG Tech cards and they all seemed very decent. I was looking at the specs on the evga one though.

What kind of difference would I see in that card and this one? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814130086 For only $20 more is it worth it?

It's clocked higher, it may be a small boost which you'll hardly notice, you can overclock it yourself at those speeds, but if you aren't into overclocking or you just don't wanna do anything wrong you can take it. The difference is small though, you can always take a nice extra fan for the extra money

Well sometimes they'll use better memory chips with the oc versions.
But not always. I would get the cheaper one and just buy a nice aftermarket heatsink for it :-)
