Hmm, I have my reservations about the truth of this one and that's not just because it's taken from the Inquirer. The Acer rumor seems more credible since Packard bell isn't big enough to survive in today's highly competitive market.

Well AMD are struggling too, so I don't see what makes it non-credible. Samsung are more than big enough to buy them out and AMD stockholders would appreciate some return on their investments, conisdering the nosedive of the last six months or so.

I don't really know how I feel about it, but I can't really see any major negatives if AMD is bought, so I guess I'm alright with it.

Well regardless of if they are getting taken over, they are still expanding their fabrication plants with a new 2.2 Billion Euro Fabrication Plant in Dresden - Germany. So maybe they will be selling off some of their 90nm plants to TMSC or someone and using that money for the 60/45nm Dresden plant?
