Read the whole story here about improvements.
What's more interesting is that it seems that more companies are starting to give Linux a bit more support and that also encourages MS to make their gaming solutions better. That in turn means all gamers get better of this regardless which os they prefer. Last but not least, here's a tiny quote from the page I linked too which should get speculation rising: Quote:

I've often thought about installing linux on one of my pc's.
But I don't know if AutoCad will work in that environment. And I don't want to buy a Linux ver. License :-)

Heeeeey Gaz and others,
Well, I am having Linux since a short time, namely Ubuntu 7.04. No trouble with drivers in my case (though I have heard the "stories"). By the way, for gaming on Linux you need software that can "help" the OS handling that typical Windows software. Say, a sort of emulator. When I have mastered Ubuntu enough, I will try to use "Cedega" (that's such a program) for that. There is a good chance that some games might even run better than on Windows XP, because Linux needs only about the half of the RAM that XP is needing. And that necessary amount of memory is about a quarter(!) of what Vista needs. By the way, Slaymate, I am afraid that for Linux you need an alternative CAD program. There is a good chance that som open-source people made a good alternative. Or why not simply make a dual-boot? Then you can choose between Windows and Linux when starting your pc (I have got a dual-boot as well). Cheerz, DutchEmperor Richard Rahl P.S.: Maybe I will start posting about Linux on this forum in future

P.P.S.: AMD graphic drivers?
Since when does AMD make graphic cards / chipsets? I guess onboard solutions are meant in this case.

I have 4 PC's, I don't need dual-boot. But I want to do whatever I
want on any of them without having to re-boot. I may try Linix out one day, but until it can do what windows can do, I'll stick with what works. I do appreciate the efforts being made in alternative OS's though, One day I maybe able to use one :-)

Slay, you could always download Ubuntu for example, burn it on a disc and run it from there instead of having to install it. Just to have know in future what opensource looks like and what possibilities it offers. http://www.ubuntu.com/
