Well that would be awesome if it works. Currently I can only play BF2 at 1600x1200 because every other game I do not think you can change the resolution out of game and even if I could it would have to be 1600x1200. And right now my PC can not handle that.
I really wanted to download TF2 this morning but I thought why bother I will not be able to play it anyway with this display problem. Is it safe to load these drivers if they are not for Vista? I do not want to make it worse. |

If they are not compatible with Vista they will say so and not install. Nothing bad can happen.

[/b][/quote]I've been using Beta Drivers for years, and years, and years. Way back in the olden days Beta Drivers were always questionable. But I always tried them to test for performance and quality improvements. Some were good and some were bad. If they weren't acceptable then it's easy to change back. However, nowadays most beta drivers are just the WHQL driver with minor changes made for specific applications. Or they are the actual newest WHQL driver submitted and waiting for validation. Don't let the "term" Beta scare you from a good thing :-)

UPDATE!!
After installing the 8800GTX with the new drivers everything is working correctly now with the display. I have a question and new problem now. My question is on a Dell 2405 monitor what is the best resolution to play it to make it look the best? I played at 1920x1200 last night and everyone is tall! lol Then at 1280.x960 and/or 1024 the screen is cropped on the sides. The problem I have is installing the Crysis beta. It goes through the install and then I click finish but yet there is no desktop icon or folders in windows explorer?? Just a recap of what I am running. Intel 2.4 Quad Vista Ultimate 64 bit 2 gig ram 8000GTX 768 Thanks for everyone that responded previously! |

Your screen has a native resolution which will ALWAYS display the best quality picture. On LCD panels you will find that this is always the highest supported resolution detected by the display driver. Anything below that will have lower quality.
If your game does not support the native resolution, you need to choose a resolution that has an equivalent aspect ratio. Widescreen ratios are 16:9 and 16:10. If you can try a resolution of 1440x900 or 1680x1050 and whack on 4x AA and 16x AF. In relation to the Crysis BETA you may want to just navigate to the Crysis folder (c:\program files(x86)\EA Games\Crysis BETA) and run the Crysis.exe
