Consider moving to something like a 8600gt or gts. They're pretty cheap,.

well, i'm excited about the bioshock, i think its a good game though..
and yes, maybe i'll play old games..
juz waiting the right time to build new c2duo setup..
seems like i was far behind you all guys.. thanx..

Edit: Apparently the 6600 I had does outperform the 7300 gt... I guess my logic was flawed there. Well, GG.

i run an athalon xp2800 with 1gb of ram and a nvid 6600gt and i was playing bioshock demo on quite high settings ....if this helps...

What are you meaning with "quite high"? I think you should use words like "high" only if the game calls it like that. Your card is hardly better then my 6200 SE Turbocache, and I ran it the demo on medium. And your cpu is performing below a pentium 4 (I do have an Athlon 64 in the system I mentioned) So I think you're a little unclear at the moment, about what is high in your opinion.

the setting in the game said "high"..cant elaborate any better than that.i did have aa turned off as my processor hates it.as for the 6600 gt it runs much faster than turbo cache ...you should see fear and bf2 running(old but beautiful games in my opinion)

I know, the variety of Pentium 4 models is/was quite high. But in the times that the AthlonXP was released, AMD's technology was quite behind. So this is the order of "getting better": AthlonXP - Pentium 4 (all) - Athlon 64. But it doesn't matter that much, as a dual core system becomes more & more necessary for gaming. At the moment, most gurus here advise a Core 2 Duo (with a FSB of at least 900Mhz).

oh dont worry fella no offence was taken...oh as a footnote ive just installed quake :enemy terrs and it runs it on 1280,1028 at low settings fairly smoothly.its not a patch(scues the pun)on bf 2 tho.
