Did you uninstall your old drivers correctly, before installing the new?

I was playing quake with this spec: radeon 9700 pro, amd athlon 2000+, 512mb ram, and with an old msi motherboard. it was running great at medium setting (40-60fps)! now im playing quake with this spec: 6800gt, pentium4 3200, 2gb ram, with a decent msi motherboard. Now its running on high setting with 60+fps, i can even run it on ultra high setting with 30+ fps even tho that setting req 512 mb graphic card ram. Games can run terrible on any computer if the computer is filled with spyware etc.. (gues i dont have to say that tho :P) But, a healthy computer is a "must" for games! about hellgate running on a 7300gt; when my 6800gt runs it just fine, im guesing that a 7300gt will run it great! I dont wanna sound like some kind of guru here, but i find it kind of funny when people r complaining about theyr computers not running stuff very well. then they think upgrading theyr hardware is the only solution. even tho people know why theyr computer is running slow they turn to a major upgrade. Friend of mine just did this. He had two virus programs running at the same time, more than 200 small aplications running in the computers memory, and a swarm of spyware screwing around! And what does he say even tho he knows whats going on?... "Bah, time to purchase a new computer" Not saying u guys r doing this tho, but i bet u all know someone that does it! :P Maybe someone's just fed up with theyr old computer and just cant resist getting a new bad ass computer! I know how its like to walk into a computer store (its like giving a 5yr old ur wallet and let him lose at a huge toystore) |

There are two types of Athlon cpus: Tonygbaker has the slowest one, an athlon xp. You are talking about a cpu that is a lot faster (Pentium 4). 2. The 7300 is, as far as I know, not better than a 6800. The 7300 is (as far as I know) a budgetmodel of the GeForce 7. The 6800 is, in despite of the lower model, a top-card. So I think we cannot assume it is better. 3. It is not only the videocard, you have got a completely different setup then Tony does. You have faster cpu, which makes it possible to squeeze much more performance out of your card then his cpu can. 4. The best way to find out is by trying out the demo. In this case we simply have to check it out ![]()

My other older computer is a Athlon 64 3400+ 2.4 2 GIGS DDR and a 7300GT 8X AGP..
I can run Hellgate to hell and back on high and have played BIOSHOCK everything on high its liveable alittle lag here and there but medium runs just fine. FEAR all settings high Quake 4 all settings high HL2 all settings high Oblivion with some tweaks and so other than the new newest games thats just BS and people talkin out thier azzes. had a freakin 6600 turbo force and ran Hellgate before the 7300GT so yes you can run ALOT of games on that set up. Not everyone blows a small fortune on a pc and people that have love to blow sunshine up thier own azzes by talking about what they have no actual experience first hand in as long as they sound like thier sh*ts the best. Dude go forth and game and yes that will run Hellgate. |
