Can nvidia 7300gt plays hellgate??

I know that i might wanna to upgrade my graphic cards to play latest games around.But my lovely palit 7300gt is still new and i felt no need to swap it at anytime from now. My question is, is there any tweaking guide for me to play hellgates london cause i'm afraid that this baby cant handle it at all.. my system is amd 64 3200(2.5ghz) socket 939, 1gb of ram, and palit 7300gt 256mb sonic.. Erm also, can i play bioshock too? colin mcrae dirt? man, this is why i hate games..

First off, let's get an realitycheck here. Your videocard isn't new and it was already an underachiever when it first came out. Playing Hellgate London, Bioshock or Colin mcrae is going to be difficult at lowest settings and the fact that you have only 1 GB of ram and an old processor doesn't help in getting your system any faster either.

If you happened to have a 7600 I'd think about pointing you towards some tweaking tips but with this card it's more realistic to tell you to update your pc. Anyhow, try this topic for some basic optimisation.

Have you recently payed for that card? If you have I would take it back to the store immediately. If anyone has told you it would play the latest games then you have been horribly deceived.

IF you must play games on it, 1 rule of thumb would be to not play the latest killer titles and stick to HL2 era gaming.

HaHaHa, that's freakin beautiful. The 7300 was outdated when it was released.
I realize you probably can't afford to upgrade, your best bet is to follow GM2's
advise and stick to older games at minimal settings.

There are plenty of really good games you can enjoy though, so don't think of it as a complete turkey.

World of Warcraft
Half-Life 2, Episode 1, Episode 2, Counterstrike Source and Portal should work ok with medium settings.
UT2K4
Sam & Max 2 episodic content
Call of Duty Series (not CoD4 though).
Medal of Honour Series
GTA Series

Sorry Gazz, but this time I do not completely agree with you. The Bioshock demo ran surprisingly well on my desktop system. And my graphics card is probably lesser than his (I got an 6200 SE turbocache). Ok, I have to admit I didn't benchmark it, but with my naked eyes I couldn't see any trouble. But Colin Mcrae will give him quite a bunch of trouble, just like most of the recent racing games. I didn't check Hellgate, but if you two wish it, I can (re)download Bioshock and Hellgate, and benchmark them with Fraps. Using the results, we can make an estimation of the performance on his machine. Except the videocard, I got about the same system (supposing he is using Windows XP). So just let me know if I can do it for you.

Edit: It's not hell on earth yet, by the way, lots of fantastic games should be running on it. For example Overlord (hilariously evil ) and Medieval 2: Total War (best RTS I ever played)

It's not just his videocard alone, it's the whole package the guy has. You have a fast dual core setup, fast hdd and enough ram to compensate for the obvious bottleneck in your system. He doesn't.

No, my desktop is a single core system: an Athlon64 with 1gb of RAM and an GeForce 6200 SE turbocache. I think you are confusing it with a pc of Gm2 or slaymate Yet, I think that he should run the demo of Bioshock (settings halfway between low and medium) and check it how well it runs. The same for Hellgate. Crysis won't run however, myself I had an average framerate of 12 fps in the demo (from the beginning until the first Korean camp). So I guess that Crysisis won't run too well on his system.
But I repeat what we have been saying here: there are plenty of other games.

Edit: but it's true that my hdd is quite quick, cleaning up my system regularly helps a lot too.

It's hard to get my system confused. I'm working on a deal for
a C2D E6300 w/ a mobo (Biostar). If I can wrangle it correctly

I was confused with your new laptop Richard. I sure wasn't confused with GM2 or Slaymates setup. They both have a 486 66 MHZ killer rig like me.
