I don't think they will delay the arrival of squat! lol It is their fault they invested the money they did in the format. Consumers, for the most part, know that hd and blu ray will last at max three years.
There is no reason for them at the moment. My Wii, 360, and puters all use dvds so, there is no reason that I should switch formats. I assume a lot of people won't either. I don't watch movies so, that is one reason I don't care about this so called format war, I don't own a PS3 and most likely won't for a while so there is another reason I don't care, and the last reason is, there are not going to be any games from MS on HD or blu ray! So let these dumb ass companies pour money into a format that no one will care about a short time in the future. I just don't care ![]() (I know that was more of a rant than a response but, I am the boss so, I win )

MS will be out of the gaming picture sooner then you think. They keep making bigger losses all the time and with HD dvd gone they even have to cancel their entire 360 "ultimate" line which was based on a hd dvd add on. The 360 is more and more becoming the ultimate disappointment.
Blu ray was never meant for a huge audience, if they took a quarter of the market it would have been tremendous. The biggest reason for Blu ray's existence is the fact that those discs can hold up to 200 gb and that makes them ideal for the pc market. Ofcourse HD dvd delayed the market, it was an inferior product that was developed purely for potential profit and not in the best interest of the consumer or the advancing technology. New pc's are starting to be released with blu ray disc readers all the time and it will become a common sight in the wonderful pc world. It was just released too soon on a global scale because Microsoft thought they knew how hardware works. They need to focus on their crappy software first.

I really don't think MS will be out of the gaming picture due to HD. They already said they might make a blu ray player attachment if that format wins. Plus, they don't use hd for games anyway so, I don't care
Not to mention I hear rumblings of a new Xbox and God knows it is not going to have hd or blu ray attached to it (most likely) ![]()

MS will be out of the gaming picture cause it can't seem to make a profit. HD content has nothing to do with it. They just can't seem to get a good business plan for their console and it's fastly becoming the pirates console of choice which isn't helping matters either.

Oh, I will agree that MS is sucking hind tit right now. I can't understand a lot of the decisions they are making at the moment. However, I don't think they will leave the gaming market anytime soon as they have a lot of money at their disposal to experiment with
