Default New 9800 or sli 8800?

Didn't see a thread on this recently. I think the 88 will drop in price soon, making my choice of new pc to be sli ready quad, with one 88 and power to run another “soon”.

But what do I know, my wife tells me it I touch the computer it will explode.
So I stick to the mouse and key's.

Oh my! There is also an Ultra version available?
I do not understand people saying ATI/AMD's namegiving is confusing. Because nvidia is the one who is: GT, GTS, GTX, Ultra, M (=Laptop), did I forget something?

Who cares about the numbers or names of the cards anyway. With Crysis being mediocre and most games being build for consoles first. which games do we have to look forward too?

The majority of ATI and Nvidia cards are low budget and hardly able to run Vista and a game at the same time anyway.

Found a nice review of 9800 gtx triple sli, NVIDIA GeForce 9800GTX in Tri SLI Tested :: TweakTown

Pc only for me, till it all crumbles and no one is putting out games for it. I have been playing fear for the last year and hope project origin will be the fast paced shooter fear was. (My first online game btw) playing cod4 of late yawn. Some fun to be had there though. Is there a land fill nearby? I see allot of trash blowing through the maps. (lol)
xp also not vista. xp works fine and I don’t have crash problems so why go to a new os?

Gtx most likely, but will see what the price is for ultra at the time of purchase.

There is so much information out there its hard to chouse what to put into a new machine and be confident you have parts that work well together. I have also been thinking of going with alienware even though I’ll pay a premium over new egg peace together stuff. They do focus on gamming, and should be stable rigs.

thanks for the link btw. sli frendly at the least for the next rig.
