The 3850 actually comes in a sweet AGP flavour, Fudzilla - PowerColor's HD 3850 AGP benched

@ gazz: I can not place an AGP card, because I got 3 PCI slots and 1 PCI-e slot. I really checked for "having PCI-e" when buying this pc, AGP is not an option (too slow also).
See: Compaq Presario SR1617NL Desktop pc*-* Productspecificaties*
@magus: Blu-ray is a matter of waiting until it is "normal". 129 Euro is probably about the regular price by then.

Okay, my decision is that I will ad a 600W PSU, put in a s939 version of the Athlon64 X2 4800+, and add a normal-cooled Sapphire Radeon HD 3850 (512 MB).
The problem of the Zalman 600W is that it seems a little bit too wide (165mm, my current is +/- 15 with barely space left). So what do you guys think of this one? It is an AMD certified OCZ PSU of 600W, silenced and with standard dimensions (at least, it fits in my case). OCZ Technology | Products | Power Management | OCZ GameXStream Power Supply (NVIDIA SLI-Ready). It seems as good as the Zalman to me, and it's a lot cheaper.

I've already expressed my position on your case. Replace it with a budgetmodel coolermaster as I said. Nothing's more frustrating then building a pc and then realising a part doesn't fit. Learned that lesson the hard way.

I've never owned a OCZ power supply but I've heard good things about them. It should serve you well :-)

Thanks, Slay. I already thought it should be good, though the difference in price between this one and that Zalman is about 20 euro. I guess that Zalman is a case of paying partially "for its name". :-)
Anyway, for those who are interested, here are my measurements of the maximum PSU dimensions: 185x158x10. Not bad afaik.
One more thing for now: is there a certain required distance, that should be between the graphics card and the "clips" that hold the RAM modules? I am wondering that, because of the increase in length (my current card is about 17 cm long, while that will become 22cm). The card and the "clips" seem to meet...

Well, as long as the clips for the RAM don't block the card, I don't see an issue. The only thing then would be having to remove the vid card to change out the RAM. Other than that, I wouldn't worry much.

So something like this shouldn't be troublesome (damage to electronics, heat,...)?
