I would most likely go for a OCZ PSU, as they've recently bought the company PC Power & Cooling. As far as I know you won't need a BTX PSU in particular, but OCZ makes several that they call ATX/BTX compatible.

As for how many watts you need that depends on what else you have hooked up. The OCZ GameXStream 700 Watt should be a solid candidate. If you're considering adding a second gx2 in the future you'll probably want about 1000 watts.

Default xps 420 psu and 9800 gx2

thanks for the advice
what is the differance between the btx and atx in terms of the connector type to the motherboard for the psu? would any atx psu work?
also i have read that the 9800gx2 requires true 8 pin pci-e connector and not a 6+2pin pci-e would appreciate any help!

I did some quick searching and as far as I can tell there aren't any BTX specifications with regards to powersupplies, at least not in terms of dimensions. Not sure about the 8 pin connector. It might be true, but I'm too lazy to google it.
