Gaming laptops
I've been thinking about doing a gaming class laptop for my next home PC.
I've done some cursory google searches, but really didn't find any solid comparison reviews of different systems.
Anybody have any experience, either good or bad, with a gaming laptop?

In all seriousness, gaming laptops are a waste of money and since gaming laptops are extremely heavy and get really hot on your lap it kinda kills the "lap" and leaves you with just the top. They are underachievers in the processing, graphics and sound area and their screens are extremely small and have uber poor specs to save battery life. Buy a decent pc for that money and get a (sub?) notebook for a few hundred for some on the road gaming. If you just want some protable gaming device, then get a PSP or DS and enjoy the immense catalog those handhelds have to offer.
Offtopic kinda: Am I the only one who knows tons of people who bought a laptop, hooked it up to the electrical net at home and now can't use the battery anymore since it's completely lazy?

You remind me of my sister. In her ignorance about computers and because her lack of motivation to do something with my piece of advice (which I gave her a billion times), she ruined the battery of her university-bought Lenovo "crap". I somehow discovered that it has, despite the 900 euro that she paid, a Ni-cad battery. And as you probably know, those have to be completely empty (including left-overs) before you can "safely" recharge them. So I told her, but she ignored this completely. A few weeks ago, a certain program on her system gave the message that the capacity of the battery was only 42% of it's total.
I am lucky that my Acer has a Li-ion battery, those won't get lazy within a year of 6, as long as you regularly recharge them (without emptying them completely because that is actually worse in case of that battery type). Though of course you have to put them from the net when you don't need the system's maximum power, at least that's my "strategy".

If u wanna build a Gaming PC, then i will suggest u to build Desktop and dont buy laptop.
With desktop u can build a powerfull gaming machine by adding more than one HDDs, GFX Cards and RAMs. etc(For More Peformance)
U can even use ur Gaming PC as Home Theatre if u get a large widescreen LCD monitor and good 5.1 speakers.

My friend has a Lenovo Thinkpad T61P and it's one of the nicest laptops i've seen, not that good of a videocard in it but 1920x1200 on a 15,4" screen is really great and runs cod4 good too on that reso

for the same amount of money you'll spend on a gaming laptop, you can get a better gaming desktop
the thing about laptops is you can't upgrade them much once you get it.
also they can overheat really fast...
yeah, i've had a bad experience with my old gaming laptop >.<

I would not see much on it in that case. Things would become way too small for me...

It's not that small actually, it's pretty readable.
