Want stability? Get Mandriva or Ubuntu Linux (they are even free)
Want speed? Get some new hardware!
Want to get ripped for lesser hardware and an OS with littler functions then Windows or Linux? Then get a mac.

openSUSE is a recommendation as well.
And further you are absolutely right Gazz.

The best way to destabilize Windows is by using it for gaming and regular tasks like office work or browsing. Me, I use XP for gaming (as a console sorta) and use Mandriva Liinux for things like office work and financial stuff.

Keeping them separated means that Windows remains pretty fast (essential for any pc gamer!) and does not clutter and you avoid all risks like viruses and malware while doing your sensitive finances. Sure there are some viruses on Linux, but they stand in pale comparison to the more commonly used Windows.

@Richard: I am always right!

We have a lot of choices and all depend on your budget. I like PC but with advanced software and hardwares. He..he..I spent much money on them.
