I mean, you have to actually have Steam and an internet connection to play HL2?! What the sandpaper?! Then it takes a half-hour for you to be able to play the thing. Have to agree with the overall (edited) point of this post. I don't think that the newest FOTM graphics cards are worth the money. But hey, to each his own.

Back to my question: will you have to pay for DoD:S if you bought the retail HL2?

I bought the FX5200 because it was under a $100.00 and highly rated. I don't see the point in getting this super advanced cards that cost hundreds of dollars.

Of course it is under 100$, i am not saying you bought a bad GPU, but personnaly, i would have wait a bit to have more money and i would have buy a better one, like an ati radeon 9700 (pro) or 9800...you don't seem to want to play the games at their maximum capacities, but ask you something: is it better for you to play the games now with mediu details and medium fps (20-30) or is it better to wait 1-2 months and buy a new GPU to play with better graphics and better fps (40-80)? Dunno, but you're happy when you see hl² running perfectly smooth at average fps of 55 with all set to high....and 1280x1024....that's a choice, you re the one who makes it ... :thumbup:

I average 39 fps with everything set on high in Hl2 with my 5200. That may not sound great to the geeks, but it's playable nontheless. But 90-100 for a modern card is worth it I guess.

And do I need to pay for DoD:S from Steam and Steam only? That's kind of teahat. Seriously. I feel robbed, because that's one of my reasons for getting HL2 in the first place. Don't see the point in giving CS:S free and not DoD:S.

Some time ago I used the word; "bastard" in the kindergarten forum, and gamesmaster corrected me and gave me a warning!
I send gamesmaster a PM regarding this, but I never got any response. If any of the mods/admins are reading this please
delete this post. I would really like to clear up this misunderstanding, so can any of the mods/admins send me a PM wether I officialy got a warning or not.
