I've been thinking about getting one those big ass plasma monitors for a while now. More specifically, this little beauty. But previous experience during meetings have shown plasma screens to be slow and cumbersome when rendering anything more complex than a stickman. Granted, that was a while ago, so i'm curious if this has changed. My question: Are big screens like this one suitable for playing FPS and the like? I realize i can't run games in 1600x1200 resolution with one of these things, but that's not really a problem. My only concerns are whether or not it can run games as smoothly as a CRT monitor, and whether or not the images it generates are comparable to that of a CRT on the same resolution.

From what i heard plasma still has the "burnout" effect.
It loses brightness after some time. Even the best lcd aren't all that great so i'll stick to crt for some more time.
