Just to let you know, The 6600 is out for agp. http://www.tweaktown.com/document.php?dTyp...=review&dId=731 and you can read an article about it right there. Check ZipzoomFly they might have something about it right there. Or check the tigerdirect.com also.

getting thsi 9800 atlantis from newegg,
its 128mb ram 128 bit
8 pipelines
325mhz core, 580 mhz ram
for 150 USD
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc....-102-382&depa=1
heres a link
my budget is 150 dollars, i wanted to get a 6600 but nvidia is in intels favor and my amd motherboard doesnt have pcie... why dont they make the 6600 an AGP chip!
(and yes i know the 6600GT has agp chips)
my curent rig=
amd 64 3000+
512mb kingston value ram cl 3-3-3
40gb WD IDE
MAG 17" LCD 16 ms
GeForceFX5200 256mb
the 5200 has been doing good concidering what it is, but i play alot of CS Source at 1280x1024 0xAA 8xAF and get about 50-70 fps on medium settings, but i have to have shaders and water on low, which is not cool. even then, when i look at the water on de aztec i get about 15 fpS! aztec runs like crap.
doom3 about 40-80 fps on medium 800x600
i feel like the 5200 is a holdback to my whole system,
should i get that 9800? or something else like a 9600XT?
keep in mind my budget is 150$, no instance of "spend a little more"

The 9800 is a very good card and outperformes the 9600XT, if u are to get it for 150 bucks, then go for it.
it will be well worth the money

well, awesome man
my options have all changed, the one i was looking into sold out, lucky me , because i can get much better it seems.
i was looking into the PRO EZ version btu i coulda sworn newegg didnt have any
and i didnt see that refurbished PRO either
also i'm looking at this 256mb 9800(non pro, but non atlantis) which is real nice for 170, dont think i can push my mom much past 150 tho
so prolly gona go with the refurbished, im just really interested in the 256 bit aperature and the PRO features, which i guess is jsut speed
as for that idiot who was posting about the 6600s
the first link you showed me was a 6600GT for AGP which is no less than 220$, i said in my first post clearly that i meant the NON GT VERSION
and then u posted again about the 6600 (non GT) with a link and i thot maybe u did me some good and found one
but it was a PCI EXPRESS AND AMD MOTHERBOARDS DONT HAVE PCIE WHICH IS WHY SAID AGP IN THE FIRST PLACE
thanks for nothing to you idiot.
and thanks again to Choupolo, u actualy did help me, Alot.

When yu said no instances of paying a little more....how much is a little, hehe?
Theres a 'refurbished' powercolor 9800 Pro EZ as well on newegg for 20 cents more, if yu missed that...? (Pro EZ has slower mem than a proper 9800 Pro, but slightly higher core speeds than the standard 9800)
9800 Pro EZ
And a 'refurbished' sapphire 9800 Pro (proper one) for $20 more...?
9800 Pro (proper)
Dunno if refurbished means crap...i guess theres a risk, but they cant be selling it if there was a great risk. Its up to yu if yu think its worth it.
I only mention these cos Im not sure how a 9800 performs, and i know a 9800 Pro plays CSS perfectly on highest settings, so yu'll love it.

Shut it, all of you with that off topic talk. Seriously, what the hell.
hulabeet, what is that mood you're in? That's awful.
You've asked for help, god, stop insulting those who help you.
