That's nothing new, they just gave it a new name and voila.
Something like that was already a part of agpx1, but agp bandwidth was quickly not enough.
And now with that problem gone thanks to pci-x they can use it in their low end cards, but still it wouldn't work with better hardware so it's prolly the last time we see it.
