so I ran 3dmark05 demo with my 2200+ processor and came up with a score of 2940
I upgraded my cpu to a 3000+ and still got the same score does anyone know whats happening here? 9800xt gfx card (8x) 1 gb 2700 ddr asus 333 mb, 4x agp slot

I think the 3dmark 05 is very gfx demanding and it doesn't really matter on what cpu you have.
Try finding some cpu benchmarks of 3dmark.

Since 3dmark 2003, that the tests have been made, kinda cpu "independent".
3Dmark 2001 was to dependent of the CPU!
